I have laid before the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury Mr.Read's letter of the 4th instant 50493/15) and its enclosure relative to the export of sovereigns from Hong Kong.

In reply I am to request you to inform Hr. Secretary Bonar Law that if the Governor of Hong Kong sees no objection to this exportation from the point of view

of local monetary conditions, My Lords for Their part have no objection to permission being granted to the Manager of the Netherland Bank to ship 5,000 sovereigns to the

Netherlands Oversea Trust, Amsterdam.
